Overuse injuries in the wrist, arm, and neck are becoming a common problem for pro gamers, and teams are more focused on player wellness than ever before. John Svärd, a chiropractor at the Kroppshälsan clinic in Sweden, has treated several professional and semi-professional esports players for these injuries, which can also affect normal office workers.

‘No Playing Field’ is a series by Mashable following the behind-the-scenes of the ever-growing world of esports. From huge investment opportunities, to secret team tactics, to obsessed fans, the series gives deep insights on how esports came to be, its current challenges and where it’s heading next.
