What causes ear infections? How to get rid of an ear infection?

If you feel you are struggling with ear infections, this video has some useful information on ear infection remedies and ear infection treatments.

You may have a middle ear infection, an outer ear infection or an inner ear infection.

Some symptoms of ear infections include:
– earache
– slight hearing loss
– a sense of fullness in the ear
– a temperature
– nausea
– sometimes there can be drainage of pus from the ear

IMPORTANT: Avoid putting oil drops, ear drops, or cotton buds in your toddler’s ear unless advised to do so by a doctor.

You can learn more about the types, causes, symptoms and treatments for ear infections in our in-depth health guide here: https://www.medicspot.co.uk/treatment/ear-infection

If these home remedies for ear infections do not help to ease your discomfort, you can consult with a doctor by booking an appointment with a GP at https://www.medicspot.co.uk/clinics.

Watch more How to Deal with Ear Problems videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/508248-How-to-Cure-an-Ear-Infection-Naturally-Ear-Problems

There are no well established and natural cures for ear infections. I’m not aware of any non-medical remedies for viral infections of the inner ear.

However, if you have an outer ear infection, anything that acidifies the outer ear might make it better. So for example, if you mix some vinegar and water together and create some acidic acid and drip it in your ear, it’s extremely safe, and it would probably cure about 60 percent of ear infections.

There’s no naturopathic or homeopathic treatment that I am aware of for middle ear infections. However, the current trend is to allow the body to treat these infections without the use of antibiotics, because the overuse of antibiotics has led to antibiotic resistant bacteria, and this is a big problem for us in the medical community.

So if a child has an ear infection, and isn’t running a much of a fever, and isn’t in very much pain, the current trend is not to treat, except with symptomatic therapy. That is to say something for the pain, and in effect be homeopathic, and let the body cure the ear infection.

injuries No Comments »

The Sports Institute at UW Medicine works to expand participation and safety in sports. In an ongoing effort to educate parents, coaches and medical personnel on best practices in sports safety, we produced a short educational film demonstrating new NATA-recommended techniques for emergent treatment of athletes with a suspected cervical spine injury. These recommendations are made in two peer-reviewed papers written by the NATA Spine Injury in Sport Group.
